Powers
Raina's powers lie in hypnotism. She sometimes uses a pocket watch, or a hypno swirl, but these are mostly just for show! Being within eyesight is the only real limits of her powers - though if you can block off your own eyes and ears, it makes it harder for her to make the first all-important connection.
She can only effect the mind, but that doesn't stop her from having a little fun with transformation. She can hypnotize herself, and her victim, into believing and totally feeling a physical transformation. So long as both muns are willing, anything from bunny ears to tentacles are fair game.
She can do long-term hypnosis, but she usually just sets them to forget everything after a night's rest. Sometimes there's side effects, like boosted confidence or a confused sexuality, but they fade unless Raina doesn't want them to.

Generally playful, Raina has only a rudimentary moral compass. She doesn't view herself as bad: she doesn't want to do harm to those around her. She recognizes the difference between right and wrong, and is capable of feeling guilty if actively confronted with her actions. She just tends to ignore all of that when she sees something she wants. Jewelry, a pretty girl, a steak dinner: these things tend to matter to her more than little things like another person's embarrassment, or the nature of free will. Most of the time, she either erases everyone's memories or makes them remember it pleasantly, so she doesn't see the harm.
She can be selfish. She can be vindictive and petty, willing to force anyone who annoys her into the most awkward positions she can think of. Most of the time, however, she's just self absorbed. She believes she has the right to the more pleasant things in life.
Still, so far she has always stopped short of causing permanent harm to those she meets. Beyond what passes for her morals, she is held back by her fear of the more magically oriented judicial system her grandfather used to talk about. She fears she may already be on their radar, not to mention that of the more mundane police, and so prefers not to leave behind anything but vague memories of a "cute traveling show woman."

A former med student, Raina's life got twisted around when her grandfather died. In his will, he claimed to leave behind the "Magic" of his own youth, passed to her upon the burial of his body.
Equal parts amused and frustrated at her senile grandfather, and wishing she'd been left some of his cash instead, Raina's first act was to playfully fake hypnotizing her roommate into a playful kiss. She was surprised when the other woman went along. She was even more surprised when her second trick worked: jokingly asking a bank teller if she could have a few thousand dollars to pay off her college loans, in return for a few twirl's of an old pocket watch.
Raina's third act was to convince everyone they'd never even heard of her, and to flee her old life as fast as a thousand dollars could carry her.
With her scientific beliefs seriously challenged, Raina suddenly recalled of her grandfather's stories. A magical underground, a secret police force - and the need to keep out of the public's eye if practicing magic.
For the time being, she's chosen to take refuge in an old cliché, and put on a traveling show. Simple stuff, mostly - and she tries to get by without doing anyone too much harm. She's not bad, really...
She just has a taste for the sweet stuff.
